It all started from that small moment, that moment she witnessed a hiphop performance on the street. She was baffled and immediately hooked.
As a child she was always very energetic and in need of something to let it all out. That soon became dancing.
Throughout the years Katerina experimented with several styles. But it was only when she discovered the style waacking, she completely fell head over heels in love and her disco ‘alter-ego’ had finally found a home.
With a lack of dance partners to practice with, Katerina decided to start teaching waacking. This way, she was able to create a group of people to share her passion with and have dance partners. Along the way she met a lot of people and she was able to spark an interest for this style. Soon this turned out into an organisation: Vogue & Waacking Belgium.
Always hungry for more, Katerina started traveling to meet with Waackers all over the world. She wanted the true experience and also share hers. Besides battling and jamming, hosting is also something she added on her skills list. However conversating through movement is what she loves most and having these conversations during jams and battles with fellow waackers on the dance floor gained her the name ‘true jammer by heart’.

2018 was the year when Katerina decided that it was time. It was time for Belgium’s first waacking battle. And soon The Waackdown was born. With a successful first edition, hosted by yours truly, it was inevitable not to organize a second edition.
The future looks bright, always there to support the community and shine al light on this style she loves deeply called waacking.
